meet the crew i call mine

Updated: Apr 28, 2020

since i'm starting over brand new in blog world, i'm going to introduce you to the main men in my life. i'll talk about them a lot, i'm sure ... so it's only fair that you know them.

tucker is my oldest son. he's in 8th grade this year. he loves playing football, hockey + baseball. he plays the trumpet in band (mad props to him because i only lasted two years in band). this kid is funny. he's got a quick wit that makes me so proud. he's my fellow sweet tooth. he is good in school, even though his love of it wore off a few years ago. he may or may not be the most forgetful in the house, but i couldn't love this kid more. levi is my youngest son. he's in 4th grade this year. he also loves playing football, hockey + baseball. he is obsessed with sports statistics and facts. the kid knows things about players that blows my mind. i don't understand how boys brains retain this knowledge, but i'm watching it happen. he's a tough guy with a soft heart. he loves learning + is not a fan of breaking the rules. i hope this sticks with him for like, ever. i love him so much.

nick is my husband. i'll often refer to him as bjerken. i met him on tinder in 2015. we did have mutual friends, and had even been to a few of the same weddings, but we NEVER met. i think the universe was saving us for each other later in life. we had a long distance relationship for two years, then he moved north with me and the boys. it was a big deal. the kid quit his job, moved away from his entire life in south saint paul ... for us. in 2018, we got engaged. he had the boys in on the proposal + recreated our first date. it was the biggest and most awesome surprise ever. we were married in july 2019 with our closest friends and family there. nick is the best partner i could have ever asked for. i am grateful every day that we are building a life together. so, those are my boys. it's a crew that i love so much it feels as though my heart might burst at times. i am a lucky girl. this image is an oldie, but one of my favorites.
