happy mail could save the world

i love making people feel special. i love taking the extra time to find the perfect gift (when i remember the occasion - that's a story for another post). i enjoy looking for little gadgets + goodies that i could easily send out to someone when the right time presents itself. i have a very large collection of cards for every possible scenario. i literally just shop for cool cards and then just stash them away until they are needed. there is a drawer full of small trinkets and notebooks + pens that i have on hand to create special packages for those on my list. i get giddy just thinking about it. you might be wondering why i think happy mail could save the world. well, it's easy. imagine the feeling you get when you get an unexpected package or handwritten notecard. don't you feel like you just won some kind of mail lottery? i know i do! i also get that feeling just putting happy mail together and sending it out! that feeling, if bottled and given to every human could change the outlook of this entire population. dude, happiness would be literally beaming across the globe. i have kept every single piece of happy mail that i have been sent in the last six years. it's a pretty large tote full! every card, message + gift was meant for me from someone that took time out of their day to think of me. i am grateful for each piece. if you read this post, i triple double dog dare you to send out five pieces of happy mail. then, maybe make a habit of doing it once a month or randomly during the year. it doesn't have to be a special occasion. it's a magical thing to show up in someone's mailbox unannounced. trust me. here are just a few of the special things that were sent to me.
